ABOUT Tianyar - Indonesia

With stunning landscapes, Tianyar charms everyone because it has an incredible atmosphere. Its hospitable people captivate everyone who visits there. Despite the distance, one of Indonesia’s 17,000 islands is a very attractive destination since it is very economical. Its currency is devalued, which allows people who go to this place to eat and be well settled at a good price. Religion is very latent in Tianyar. When walking through the streets, it is possible to see offerings being made to Gods, parades and people in typical clothes. Most of the population on the island believes in the Hindu religion with some Buddhist influence.

PROJECT DETAILS

If you want to change and inspire lives through education, this program is perfect for you. English is very important in developing countries. With your help, local people will acquire knowledge and confidence to partake in conversations in English with foreigners.
You will teach English to local children aged between 6 years old and 16 years old. You, along with other volunteers, will focus on providing a fun and enjoyable experience where the children can further progress their English. You will plan and teach fun and interactive lessons that develop the children’s confidence and conversational skills that will make a huge difference to those less fortunate. Volunteers are encouraged to be creative in their approach and, when possible, make use of games, songs, art, sports and music. In most classes, volunteers will be co-teaching with another volunteer. Our local teacher aid and volunteer coordinator is available for your support.
